In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Studies have shown that the hours between 3 and 8 p.m. are the hours that most kids are likely to get involved with crimes, be victims of crime or engage in other risky behavior.
The Clubs provide an alternative to the dangers of the streets and a place for parents to send their children. Moreover, the Clubs provide stimulating activities that help build character, self-esteem, values and skills.
Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow. The clubs allow children – regardless of their family financial status – the means to participate in programs that enhance their physical health, academic success, and career potential.
Through the generosity of volunteers and donors, the Boys & Girls Clubs are able to offer life-changing programs to more than 43,000 children and teens every year.
